I can never quite be sure when the bug to write this thing is going to strike me and if/when it does – how long it will last, but here I am. For now.

So, so much has happened since I last wrote anything on this blog and – wow. Life, amirite?

There was a brief conversation on my twitter timeline yesterday about what blogging used to be before advertisers and money came and ruined it all. It made me feel nostalgic and this morning I woke up and thought about how I’d be really sad about not being able to go back and read about moments of my life because I’d been too lazy to document them.

I thought about paper journaling but I just don’t know if I’ve got that in me any more. And maybe journaling feels too serious. I just want to document my days and random thoughts and be able to look back on them, hopefully with fondness. I also wonder if keeping this public serves any real purpose or not, anymore.

If you’re someone who regular updates your blog or journals, what keeps you inspired?

Let’s talk about hugs for a moment. Do you like hugs? Are you a good hugger? Today, I had a really, really fantastic brunch with a mob of my friends and I was reminded how amazing a good hug can be (also, how beyond my friends are). I’m not talking about the kind of hug that only lasts for a split second – I mean the kind where you feel so comfortable that neither of you let’s go and maybe you get an extra squeeze. Try it. The next time you hug someone, don’t let go right away – stay in it. I hate myself for writing this ¬†– but it’s a major key.
