Of Days Gone By
I hate to sound like one of those people who’s always talking about the good old days. But….I miss the good old days of blogging. When people wrote about their lives, before everyone was trying to make blogging a career & before businesses became involved in schilling any and everything on every site imaginable.
I know that just because blogging changed doesn’t mean that I needed to change, but that’s kind of the way things go, isn’t it? Maybe part of what I’m feeling is just due to the fact that I’ve been writing for so long or maybe it’s a by-product of the blogs that I read.
Back in ye olden days I felt like I got to know people and I looked forward to it. Now, I feel like everything I read is a bunch of nameless people whose words I never read. I’m trapped in an endless scroll of highly edited pictures.
Again, I understand that much of the control of this lies in my own hands – but when every blog pretty much starts to look the same, it becomes increasingly difficult to do so.
I read a lot of fantastical blogs, and this almost certainly isn’t directed at any of you who read my rambles regularly – because I know you miss it too ;)
